Today Nicholas had his first Well Baby Visit in Switzerland.He is now 12 pounds and 22.25 inches long.
The doctor was also very impressed by his ability to hold his head and chest off the exam table when he is on his tummy. Apparently Nicholas is "on the verge" of rolling over from his tummy to his back. She was also impressed that he is already trying to crawl (even if the attempt is futile) and thinks he will be mobile much sooner than average.
Nicholas is very alert and good at making eye contact. He did an excellent job tracking items with his eyes and turning his head to discover the source of noises. And he has a beautifully shaped head with no evidence of flat spots.
He also has reflux in his left kidney. Which is quite common in infants, especially boys, and they usually grow out of it. We'll be meeting with a pediatric urologist to make certain everything is ok, but it probably means we will just have to watch closely for kidney/urinary tract infections until his system matures a bit more.
So, all in all, he is a very Well Baby!
