It's time to renew Nicholas's passport.
Generally a child's passport is renewed every 5 years. Due to the adoption process, Nicholas's passport expires after 1 year. Now that we have the adoption decree and the new birth certificate, all we needed was a new passport photo and we are ready to renew.
We are headed to the US Embassy in Bern, Switzerland on Friday morning. (That is also Nicholas's 8-month birthday. So his monthly photo shoot may be a day or two late this month.)Only bad thing...
The Embassy does not accept appointments. Nor are you allowed to bring food and drink. So we will be waiting in line for an undetermined amount of time with a baby and no food or bottles.
I'll call this week to see if exceptions are made for babies. Hopefully so!
