Nicholas has now moved on from his attachment to the burp cloths and seems to be developing an attachment to two different items. The attachment has been developing over the last couple of months and I believe he will keep one or both items as his "security object." I am encouraging both objects because they are small and easily packed in my purse or coat pocket.
A blue rabbit whose ears he clutches as he is going to sleep.
And a yellow bear he nuzzles into while he is in his crib.
Both of these were gifts from friends and purchased months ago. Unfortunately, both companies seem to have discontinued making them.Because it is dangerous to have only one of a particular Lovey, I searched the internet until I was able to find more of both! Additional rabbits and bears are being sent to my parents, who will bring them when they come in a few weeks time.
Whew! Now if one gets lost or damaged, we will have a back up.
Of course, if he decides to move on and attach to a completely different object it will all have been a waste of time and I will likely have to search the internet for another Lovey.
