Yesterday Nicholas had a bad day. The night before was mostly fitful, fussy short naps instead of sleep. He woke up screaming in the morning. The screaming continued most of the day. If he was awake, he was unhappy and making his displeasure with life known in no uncertain terms. I started to get nervous that our easy-going, laid-back baby was entering into a new phase (The Dreaded C-Word).
I have extremely happy to report he slept well last night (only woke once for a bottle) and is his normal, contented self today.
Have no idea what yesterday was about. I even took his temperature a couple of times just in case he had gotten sick. Which, you guessed it, produced more screaming. Fortunately, it was a comforting 98.7 degrees both times.
Colic can begin any time in the first 6 weeks. Another week and a half and we will hopefully be past the danger stage.
