Interactive: Gratuitous Cute Baby Story

Over the last couple of weeks Nicholas has been becoming increasingly interactive. It is so wonderful when he responds to talking or smiling.

He does not yet know that his hands and feet belong to him, but he has discovered his tongue, which he moves around and pokes out with a look of intense concentration. When you talk to him, he moves his tongue all over the place and then smiles a huge grin. And I think he is starting to realize that those things he repeatedly waves in front of his face might actually be part of him.

And yesterday, when my father brought a bottle for him, Nicholas had the cutest reaction yet. He blew his pacifier out, launching it across the room, and then giggled and waved his arms and legs like mad.

It was almost like he was saying: "Oh goody! I get my bottle! I love my bottle! It's the best bottle ever! Woo hoo! Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!"
