9 Months

Well, actually 9 months and 1 week. But we were away last week so it's slightly delayed this month...

If you click on the photo below it will enlarge. You can just see the two teeth smack dap in the front on the bottom.

We cannot believe how Nicholas made such a HUGE developmental leap this month. It's like a light went off in his brain and he is suddenly making that connection between words and actions and objects. Definitely time to start focusing on the Baby Sign Language.

As posted before, he is now saying "UP!" when he wants to be picked up. We weren't 100% sure he knew what he was saying, but now we are pretty convinced.

He also started waving at people on Saturday. It just clicked and he is now waving at everyone he can! It's adorable. He lifts his hand up above his head and then just flicks his wrist up and down.

We also know that he understands "no" and "uh-uh." And he is now saying "Mama," but I don't know if he completely understands it's me. Sometimes he seems to and other times he doesn't.

And Nicholas is also trying to mimic every thing we say, with varying degrees of success.

What else is interesting is that his physical development (i.e. learning to walk) seems to have slowed down a bit while his brain focuses on the talking. Which I guess makes sense when you think about it.
